Barakamon (ばらかもん) is a Japanese manga series written by Satsuki Yoshino. This anime will aired on July 06, 2014 with the genre of Comedy and Slice of Life.



The story follows Seishū Handa, a calligrapher who moves to the remote Gotō Islands off the western coast of Kyushu, and his various interactions with the people of the island.

 Square Enix has released seven volumes, with an eighth to be released in September 2013. A spin-off manga, titled Handa-kun, will start serialization in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine. An anime adaptation has been announced. In February 2014, Yen Press announced they had licensed Barakamon for English release in North America.
